Lula lands in China for peace!

US diplomacy is on the defensive following the leaking of documents that have exposed NATO’s role in the Ukraine war and the failure of its pathetic ‘Summit for Democracy’ to mobilise what American politicians call the “free world” behind US imperialism’s drive to prolong the conflict against Russia and confront China across the Pacific. This week the spotlight is on China following the recent fruitful summit with the French leader and the arrival of Brazilian President ‘Lula’ da Silva for talks with the Chinese leadership.

Doctors on the Picket Line

A group of professionals rarely seen on the picket line are Junior Doctors in the NHS in England, who took another round of strike action, this time for 96 hours from Tuesday until Friday. Coming just after the long Easter weekend and before a normal weekend, it will in effect be a 10-day strike. This is a considerable stepping-up of action since last month’s three-day walkout.

Smear campaigns are here again

Last week, the Labour Party tweeted a photo of a smiling Prime Minister alongside the words: “Do you think adults convicted of sexually assaulting children should go to prison? Rishi Sunak doesn’t”. A follow-up accuses Sunak of not wanting to jail gun owners who possess the weapon with intent to harm; and another appears to accuse the prime minister's family of benefiting from a 'non-dom' tax loophole, after the Tories raised taxes for working people.
